Mere offers parking facilities for up to 400 cars. Transportation to and from Mere can also be arranged.

History of Mere

Mere’s history dates back to the 12th century, when it was recorded as the home of one Robert de la Mere and earned a mention in the Domesday Book. Mere Golf Course was designed in 1934 by Open Champions James Braid and George Duncan. It was opened on May 11, 1935, to great acclaim. Membership became immediately sought after, a trend which has continued to this day. Over the years, Mere has hosted several championship tournaments, including the 2001 Dan Technology European Tour Seniors Championship.

Already an exceptional setting for any type of occasion, from intimate gatherings to business meetings to lavish celebration, The Mere is set to transform itself into one of the finest luxury resort hotels in England.

The Mere will encompass its existing championship golf course, together with a newly opened world class spa, the hotel set to be completed in early 2012, in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. These outstanding leisure facilities will be supplemented by oversized accommodation facilities comprising 81 bedrooms and suites to accommodate even the finest tastes.

Three restaurants offering exquisite dining options will be sited in the golf club, the spa and the atrium of the main hotel. Existing banqueting facilities will be refurbished to ensure they fit with the quality of the new development setting new standards in gracious hospitality.

The £5 million spa is a haven of tranquillity and well-being, consisting of 7 luxury treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, hydrotherapy infinity pool, state of the art gym equipment, aerobics studio, a full salon including manicure rooms, salt steam room plus the finest 20 metre swimming pool all set in a magnificent listed building.

The spa opened on 21st January 2011 and the hotel taking its first guests early 2012.
