3D Relief Acrylic on Plywood

108 x 65 x 3cm

Edition of 10 - No. 1/10

This piece draws from nature's tendency to favor efficiency through algorithmically simulated designs similar to root heaving, when tree roots don’t have sufficient growing space below ground and they break through the weakest points in the earth. The laser cut process allows for accuracy within the design.

  • James Grossman’s works explore the relationships between organic forms in the natural and digital realms. He aims to capture obscure movement within a variety of mediums, by experimenting with themes of mutation, terrains and tactility.
